Our
family rooms are spacious, comfortable and non-smoking and we also have double
rooms that are linked to twin rooms for those families who prefer to have a bit
more space yet still be next to each other. Travel cots and bottle warmers are
available, each room has a TV and if requested a portable DVD player can be
supplied. We have a selection of children's DVD’s
available.
There's
nothing worse than being stuck in a hotel with children in bad weather and here
our indoor swimming pool is a godsend. The temperature of the pool is at a
comfortable 29 degrees and in and out of the water this is a place of fun for
hours on end. A large box of pool toys and floats adds to the enjoyment and two
comfortable pool loungers mean that Mum and Dad can relax with a good book
whilst keeping a watchful eye.
Also except for the rare occasions when it is in use for a wedding,
our large conservatory in the garden becomes at weekends an ideal place for
children to watch a video or DVD. Table soccer, brio and a number of board
games are also available. Board games are also available in one of the hotel's
cosy sitting rooms, as is Sky TV.
We
do of course hope that the sun shines during your visit so you can enjoy our
lovely 11 acres of gardens and grounds far away from any road and traffic
pollution. It's a wonderful garden for hide and seek and we have a nature trail
and a picnic area in our fields.
For
those of you that are feeling energetic there is horse riding at the farm next
to the hotel and there is a great walk across our land and the adjoining
farmers field to the Kennett and Avon canal. Here you can see the picturesque
narrow boats, hire bikes and a day boat or simply continue down the canal
towpath into the medieval town of Bradford on Avon where there is lots to see
and do.
When it's time to eat we cater for our young guests in a number of ways.
Children's meals can be served in our restaurant or the bedroom at 6pm before
the rush giving the parents time to get the children to bed. Parents may then
dine at leisure whilst listening to the kids snoring with a room monitor!
Children may also eat in the restaurant with mum and dad. They can select from
the A La Carte menu or choose more simple main dishes such as pasta or chicken
goujons, along with a choice of starters and desserts.
We hope
that Widbrook Grange appeals to all ages and by making it a special place for
our young guests we hope that they will persuade mum and dad to visit again.
